An Upcoming Visit from Our Partners
We are long awaiting our partners from BSF, Executive Director Leena Satyal and Board President Yogesh Satyal, who will be visiting us here in the United States from August 28th to September 12th, 2026. This will be their fifth trip to St. Louis since our partnership began. Between spending time with our child sponsors, going on hikes and bike rides, joining dinner parties, making momos, contributing to our 2026 Strategic Planning Meeting, and attending our 1st Annual Pickleball Tournament, their time will be packed full of events and activities!
Get Ready for Pic-N-Pickle
Mitrata is excited to announce a new community pickleball event designed to bring supporters, family, and friends together for fun, fitness, and fundraising. The event will feature beginner-friendly clinics, mixed doubles matches, silly games, and a picnic for all.
Proceeds will support educational programs for children in Nepal, and attendees can learn about sponsorships and opportunities to get involved all while enjoying refreshments and a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned player or trying pickleball for the first time, this event offers a great way to connect with our community and make a meaningful impact.
Funding the Future Through M4MK
Mitrata is raising $36,000 to send 38 students on a rare educational trip that will expand their horizons, build confidence, and provide hands-on learning beyond the classroom. This trip offers exposure to new environments, cultural experiences, and practical skills that can shape each student’s future.
We still need donations and more participants to reach our goal. Your contribution—big or small—directly funds travel, lodging, learning materials, and safe supervision for the students.
Join us in making this opportunity possible. Donate or sign up to participate and help 38 students take a life-changing step toward a brighter future.
Our Legacy Continues to Grow
Mitrata’s Legacy Circle honors donors who make a lasting commitment to the future of Nepal’s children through planned gifts—bequests, trusts, life insurance, and other arrangements that ensure ongoing support for education, health, and well‑being. Members of the Legacy Circle help sustain long-term programs, expand opportunities for vulnerable children, and provide stability that allows Mitrata to plan and grow with confidence.
We are pleased to welcome Sandeep as a member of the Legacy Circle. Sandeep’s commitment exemplifies the lasting impact individuals can make by including Mitrata in their legacy plans—turning personal values into enduring support for generations to come.
The Mitrata Approach to Sponsorship
Becoming a Mitrata sponsor means directly supporting a Nepali child’s education, healthcare, and basic needs. Sponsors also build a personal bond through letters, photos, and updates. 100% of your sponsorship goes to the child, creating a lasting, meaningful impact.
A Time to Celebrate!
Last week our partners at BSF in Nepal celebrated preschoolers advancing to the next stage and students who passed their SEE (SLC) exams. We honor their courage, dedication, and bright futures as key milestones in their ongoing learning.
Help Us Fund Our Contact Centers
Our annual STL trivia night is upon us! This week, the Mitrata staff, board, volunteers, and supporters will be gathering together in St. Louis on April 25th for a night of food, fun, fundraising, and of course trivia! If you’ve been waiting to purchase a table for the event, now is the time!
The Mitrata Team Grows
As Mitrata’s mission and goals continue to expand, so does our team. This year Mitrata has welcomed two new staff members, Mark Bieg and Lindsey Kren, to our Operations team in St. Louis.
