Make a Difference Today — One Child at a Time
We are a small grassroots organization supporting severely underprivileged children in Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world. Anything amount you fundraise will make a difference in Nepal where the average annual income is just over $1,100 USD. Any donation helps us meet our mission as we are a small nonprofit with an annual budget of about $250,000 for Nepal and US operations. We are transparent about how we use your donations, so please review our annual reports and Financials for more details.
We couldn’t be more grateful for your help! Here are just a few examples of ways you can make a difference in the lives of one or more of our children.
Start a Campaign Online
Create your own campaign page and ask friends and family to donate. You can do any activity to fundraise for one or more children -- ask friends to donate for your birthday or instead of holiday gifts, have a party and ask for donations, run a race or create a fun event—something you’ve always wanted to accomplish!
Host a Friendraiser
Think about a gathering that you sponsor for your friends or relatives; it could be your annual family reunion, or your turn to provide Easter dinner or merely a meal you cook for your eight best friends. Briefly tell them about your interest in Mitrata and ask for a little donation. Start small ($5) and you will be surprised how generous they can be. If you are uncomfortable knowing how much individual people donated, simply direct them to our website to make the donation online or mail a check to us.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Many companies match the charitable contributions their employees make. For every dollar you give, you’re really giving two dollars. And just like that, you and your employer have teamed up to double the reach of your generous gift. Get a Group Together
Our children have benefited from a girl scout troupe donating their pen money, a women’s book club sending funds to purchase warm clothes, an entire family of older siblings donating their Christmas gifts and two brothers in college coming together to support a little girl in need.
