Celebrating Kushe Aunsi

The Nepali Festival called Kushe Aunsi is also commonly known as Buwa ko Mukh Herne Din, or “the day to see one’s father’s face.” It is the Nepali version of Father’s Day! Kushe Aunsi is a celebration of gratitude for the strength and guidance that fathers provide. It is also common to ask for a father’s blessing on this day.

This year for Kushe Aunsi, the children at the Swayambhunath Contact Center celebrated by making handmade cards. They worked very hard on the cards to ensure they were just perfect for their fathers!

To all the fathers involved in Mitrata, whether sponsors and supporters, Mitrata board and staff members, BSF staff and teachers, or fathers of the Mitrata children, we are so thankful for you.

Happy Father's Day to all the incredible dads!
