A Fulfilling Request

Sponsorship is the beating heart of everything that Mitrata accomplishes, because sponsors are the generous people who provide the resources necessary to help children’s dreams become reality. Sponsorship also creates motivation for children to work hard and accomplish all they can with what is provided to them. Many sponsors would say that the pleasure of helping a child is its own reward, and that what they receive in return fills them with gratitude.

As the pandemic has wound down, more children have been graduating from the Contact Center, creating a higher than typical number of new children entering the program and needing support. Most are younger children, but a few are older and entering the program for the first time. Some attend boarding schools because their families are unable to care for them at home, and some live with their families and attend day school. But all of them have dreams of being educated and cared for so they can grow to be productive members of Nepali society.

If you have ever considered becoming a sponsor for one of the children Mitrata supports in Nepal, now is a great time to learn more about sponsorship. Do you have questions about the process, the cost, what is expected, or what it might be like to travel to Nepal to meet your sponsored child? Let us know so we can provide information to answer any question you may have.

Just thinking about it and not sure you want to sponsor a specific child? Sponsorship is also needed for the Contact Center, our early childhood education and school readiness program.

If you already support a child in Nepal and have friends, neighbors, co-workers or relatives you think may be interested in our program, please connect them with us so we can answer any questions they may have!”

If you would like to learn more about sponsorship, the children we support, or our programs, please contact Danny Williger, the Chair of Mitrata’s Sponsorship Committee and the author of this blog! He can be reached by email at sponsorship@mitrata.org or over the phone at (314)-712-0365.
