Join us in Nepal in 2026
We are excited to invite you to join our Sponsor Trip to Nepal from November 7 - 24, 2026!
The Sponsor Trip is primarily focused on our Mitrata-supported programs, and includes spending time with the children in various settings, visiting our Contact Centers, engaging with our partner NGO, Bhuvaneshwori Satyal Foundation, and learning about life in Nepal. We will attend the Mitrata-BSF Graduation Ceremony, a favorite event of many former trip participants. Sponsors will have the opportunity to spend time with their sponsored child. And, in the midst of all these wonderful events, we also leave time for free exploration, and shopping for beautiful souvenirs from Nepal!
In 2026, we are offering two options for our side trip outside of the Kathmandu Valley.
In the first option, we will make our way to the resort town of Pokhara by van while seeing the countryside. We will spend a total of 4 nights on the excursion, in Bandipur, Naudanda, and Pokhara where there will be beautiful mountain views, hiking opportunities and exploration of Newari culture. We will return to Kathmandu by air.
The second option will fly Pokhara one day in advance of the rest of the group and head out of town on a 4-day trek in the Annapurna mountains near Pokhara. This option was greatly enjoyed by those who have joined in the past, but it is important to note that this option will require you to be physically prepared for the trek.
More Details:
The trip dates include travel time to and from the United States. Outside of travel, the itinerary consists of 14 nights in Nepal. We will stay in moderately priced Nepali hotels in Kathmandu and in Pokhara. Lodging for those who participate in the Panchase trek will be more rustic, but you can expect beds and bathrooms every night! No need to worry about tents or camping.
Cost of the trip per person for single room lodging is $3,200 USD; for shared room is $3,000 USD. This cost covers hotels with breakfast, domestic flights, admission to cultural sites, air conditioned van transportation, and guides. Other meals, taxis, tips, and souvenirs are not included and are usually paid for in Nepali rupees. The current exchange rate for rupees to dollars is 140 RS = 1 USD.
Note that your airline cost is separate from the trip cost. Air travel costs vary from year to year, and an economy roundtrip ticket to Kathmandu typically averages around $2,500 per person. Usually fares increase as the trip dates approach, so registering sooner may help to keep your costs lower.
We strive to help make you as comfortable as possible leading up to the trip, as well as for the duration of the trip. We will set up several dates for meetings in person or remotely (for those out of town) prior to the trip, so we can address any questions or concerns. These meetings also enable the trip attendees time to get acquainted. This is a very convenient time to discuss the trip itinerary, how to pack, and what to expect as a group. We will go over a detailed agenda and address any questions to ensure safe and fun travel.
