Double the Trivia, Double the Fun!

This year, for the first time ever, Mitrata held TWO Trivia Nights, one in St. Louis, MO and one in Seattle, WA.

Seattle Trivia Night

Mitrata’s first ever Seattle Trivia Night took place on March 16, 2024.

This inaugural event was made up of 10 tables full of participants, and surpassed the fundraising goal of $15,000!

At Seattle Trivia Night, our fundraising was focused on auctioning opportunities to provide the children at the Contact Center with clean water and hygiene and educational supplies. Thanks to our newest Contact Center video, Amy Bensons heartfelt “10 Reasons Why I Give” message, and many wonderful donors, we were able to fully meet our fundraising goal for each of the Fund-A-Need categories!

Seattle Trivia Night attendees were also able to shop a pop-up bazaar of fair-trade Nepali items, including cozy cashmere blankets and sweaters and beautiful sterling silver jewelry.

Although trivia night fundraisers aren’t as common in Seattle as in St. Louis, the participants still showed up excited and ready for a great night! Many even said it far exceed their expectations of what a ”Trivia Night” would look like. A large part of the success of the event was due to our Trivia Host. Brian Agovino has been hosting St. Louis Trivia Night for many years, and is an expert on making trivia a blast! We are so thankful to Brian for making the trip out to Seattle.

Thank you to our Round Sponsors: Red Lantern Journeys, Woodhaven Advisors, Enzo, Arrow, Megan Bond, Amanda Camp & Brian Woebkenberg, Rick & Reva Meadows.

Thanks also to the many volunteers who assisted with the planning, preparation, and hosting of this event, including Mitrata Board Members from both Seattle and St. Louis.

This inaugural event was a smashing success, and we can’t wait to be back for Seattle Trivia Night 2025!

If you’re reading this from the Seattle area, keep an eye out for the Save-the-Date!

We look forward to seeing you there.

St. Louis Trivia Night

St. Louis Trivia Night took place on May 4, 2024. The 28 teams competed in eight fast-paced rounds of multi-media trivia. A few rounds even focused on Star Wars and Space Movies to celebrate the “May the Fourth (be with you)” date. Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to raise more than $25,000 for our Fund-A-Need goals.

This year, the St. Louis Fund-A-Need goals included providing the children at the Contact Center with comprehensive healthcare checkups, dental procedures, pairs of glasses, and a much-loved Contact Center field trip to the Kathmandu Zoo, including a pizza and ice cream party!

The St. Louis Trivia Night attendees were also able to shop a large pop-up bazaar of fair-trade Nepali items, and participate in a 50/50 raffle.

Thank you to our always amazing host Brian Agovino; our event sponsors Martone LegalHaberberger Inc, and Hesse Graville; our wonderful round sponsors, Grace & Josh Linn, Rachana Shrestha & Sagar Poudel, Beth Boyd, Pam & Ralph Caraffa, Jim & Lynn Craig, the Kathman-Do-It-All Trivia Trekkers, and Sandra Hoffmann;

Thank you also to all the volunteers, child sponsors, and board members who made this event possible!

See you on March 26, 2025 for Trivia Night St. Louis!
