The Best Day of the Year!
One of the most anticipated days in the lives of all our Students is Graduation from the Mitrata and BSF programs. When a student graduates from Mitrata, it is because they are fully self-sufficient and no longer need sponsorship.

Going Back-to-School for a Day
While in Nepal, our Sponsor Trip Participants are given the opportunity to visit a few of the schools our Sponsored Children attend. At every school we visited, sponsors were able to ask many questions, and learn more about the Nepali educational system.

This year, for the first time ever, the Sponsor Trip included a visit to both Contact Centers!

An Adventurous Excursion
A group of four adventurous Mitrata trip participants spent four days trekking in the “hills” around Phewa Lake in Pokhara, Nepal, with the opportunity to view sunrise in the Annapurna range of the Himalayan mountains from Panchase Peak.

A Night of Joy and Connection: Celebrating the Special Bond Between Sponsors and Children
Every year, shortly after arriving in Nepal, a cherished tradition takes place: a special dinner that brings together Mitrata’s sponsors and their sponsored children. This long-awaited event is filled with anticipation and excitement, as sponsors and children finally get to sit across from each other, sharing stories and enjoying a meal. For some, this is the first face-to-face meeting after years of exchanging letters. For others, it marks a joyful reunion, rich with familiar smiles and shared memories. Regardless of the circumstances, the evening is always filled with happiness.

Jet Lag & Joy: Start to Our Nepal Adventure
Mitrata Executive Director Christine Schutz and Advisory Board member Stephanie Recht touched down in Kathmandu. The following day, Sponsorship Chair and Mitrata Board Vice President Danny Williger joined them. In their first few days, they have been quite busy!

Sponsoring Fun!
We believe fun is one of the most important aspects of a well-rounded childhood, so Mitrata and our NGO partner in Nepal, Bhuvaneshwori Satyal Foundation (BSF), make an effort to never leave out fun extracurricular activities. This summer, the BSF staff, and a few volunteering older students took the Contact Center children on a fun and educational field trip to the Kathmandu Zoo.
