Meet Our New Officers

The Mitrata Board of Directors will have new officers in place beginning in January 2024.  As Jim Craig becomes Past President, Rick Hendin will succeed Jim as President, Danny Williger will become Vice-President, Jennifer Rashet will become Secretary, and Ambrose Bittner will continue as Treasurer.  They will also be key members of the Executive Committee, joining Pam Caraffa and Sandra Hoffmann.

Rick recently stated:

“I am honored and excited to lead such a talented and dedicated group of individuals on the Board, and to increase our ability to educate and empower severely underprivileged children to reach their full potential as citizens of Nepal”.

Danny and his sponsee Bikash, along with some of Bikash’s friends who are also Mitrata students.

Danny, who will also continue as Sponsorship Committee Chair, commented:

“As we consider the plans now in place for growth in the number of children being sponsored and the expansion of Contact Center services, the leadership team has expertise and experience in the expansion of our core base of supporters, ways to seek novel sources of financial support, and the efficient management of organizational resources”.

Jennifer, who will also continue as Fundraising Committee Chair, stated:

“Rick, Danny, Ambrose and I have known each other for several years, and with the unique strengths we each bring to the table, I’m excited to see where our combined passion for Mitrata will take the organization.”

Since Ambrose assumed the role of Treasurer a few years ago, he has led the Finance Committee and has improved the presentation and collective understanding of our financial reports. One of Mitrata’s core values is transparency in all our interactions. This includes finances, and Ambrose’s dedication to his position helps us to stay true to this value every year.

After being an officer on the Mitrata Board for over 12 years, Jim is “ready to begin mentoring our new officers,” and will lend tremendous experience and support to them in their new roles.

Building on the progress of the last few years, the Executive Committee will lead the effort to add additional Board members, attract new donors, and explore the possibilities of securing grants to further Mitrata’s mission.

They all agreed that there is much work to do, but they are up to the challenge!
