Happy New Year to All -With Gratitude and Joy!
As I reflect on 2018, on this last day of the year, I am filled with gratitude. Our sponsors and donors continue to support our children in Nepal and our organization here in USA. We successfully graduated more children from our program to become independent adults and continue to add new and wonderful board members and child sponsors. Our partner organization in Nepal, BSF, has made tremendous strides as an organization with dedicated staff and hard work all year to lovingly provide care, counseling and guidance to our kids in Nepal. Thank you to all the BSF staff!
We hosted three successful events this year, Trivia Night, the Climb for Himalaya Children and the Holiday Bazaar. Thanks to our many volunteers we had great fundraisers with lots of fun.
Big thanks go to our board members in Seattle, Len Kannapell and Ambrose Bittner and the climbers for their hard work on the climb of Mt Rainier last July. We give special thanks to board members , Pam Hughes and Rick Hendin for their trip to Nepal in March to work with our BSF staff and our children.
A major highlight was the visit by Leena Satyal and Yogesh Satyal of BSF for our strategic planning session and meetings with child sponsors in September. We accomplished so much and now have clear plans for the next five years. Wow!
Our child sponsor/donor trip to Nepal in September was truly amazing! We had 20 sponsors go with us on a cultural exchange trip to visit beautiful Nepal and become more informed about our children and the work we do there. We had such a wonderful time and I am so honored to have spent time with such kind and talented people.
I could go on and on of course but iI will just share more picture highlights instead. My heart is full and I am so looking forward to 2019 and what we can accomplish together. My love to all of you and especially to our beautiful children, who demonstrate resiliance, personal growth, caring and effort to overcome so much hardship to succeed in life. Happy New Year 2019!
