As we continue to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mitrata, we are also celebrating the people who have helped it become what it is today. Today we are spotlighting four individuals who were vital to the success of Mitrata.

There can be no success without a few hardships. Mitrata has has its fair share of both over the last 20 years. We have asked our Founder, and Executive Director, Dr, Christine Schutz to share some of the biggest challenges she faced during the first year of Mitrata. Here is what she said:
Why is Providing Healthcare so Important?
In Nepal, healthcare is not free. Because of this, we ensure that our children receive dental care, braces, vaccinations, glasses and regular annual exams. Last month, our NGO partner, Bhuvaneshwori-Satyal Foundation (BSF), was able to take some of our children in for a dental checkup.
BSF Hosts Letter Writing Parties for Students!
This week our school children were able to visit the new Contact Center and BSF Office to receive their sponsor letters! They also took the time to sit and write replies. We love to see our new spaces getting put to good use!

The willingness to support the education and well-being of a child half a world away is an extraordinary gift, a selfless act of charity bolstered by the belief that one’s actions can provide opportunities that would otherwise be unattainable.
