Christine Schutz, President
Dr. Christine Schutz is a psychologist in private practice and serves as the Dean of Student Services at Logan University in St. Louis , Missouri . She teaches clinical psychology and mindfulness meditation practice. Christine travels to Nepal annually to manage program development for the Mitrata-Nepal children’s home in Kathmandu and to take groups of sponsors/donors on cultural tours. She volunteers her time to locate sponsors and link them with children on a personal one-to-one basis and serves as the executive director for Mitrata-Nepal Foundation for Children, Inc. in the USA
Nancy Williger, Vice-President
She has been involved with Mitrata since its inception and is now the Vice President of the Board. She is a is a psychologist in private practice. In addition to being on the fund raising committee, she is in charge of the tea project. This involves importing tea from Nepal in beautiful hand sewn packets and selling them to raise money for the home.
Sandra S. Hoffman, Secretary
Sandra Hoffmann is a rheumatologist (physician specializing in arthritis and autoimmune disease) practicing in the South County area and lives in Kirkwood, MO. She is secretary for the Board of Directors and director of the communications committee at Mitrata-Nepal. She sponsors 3 children (2 home, 1 school). In addition to 1 biologic child, she has 3 adopted children (from Korea, Russia and Ukraine). Her role is to document meetings for Mitrata-Nepal and facilitate communications with sponsors and the general public.

Scott Biesinger
He is an engineer and supply chain manager from St. Louis, MO. Scott began volunteering for Mitrata-Nepal after learning about the amazing work the organization was doing for the children of Nepal. Scott believes that helping those less fortunate at home and abroad are both necessary to make the world a better place.
Ambrose Bittner
He is the owner and managing director of Red Lantern Journeys, a travel company focused on arranging cultural tours and adventure travel packages to Asian countries. Because Red Lantern Journeys arranges tours and treks in Nepal , he believes in giving back to the community that has given so much to him. Living in Seattle, he is an avid mountain climber and a co-founder of 3 Summits for Nepal ’s Children, an annual fund-raising climb of volcanoes in Washington State . 3 Summits chose Mitrata as one of the prime organizations to support due to the excellent work and direct impact it has on improving the lives of its children.
Jim Brasunas
He was one of the initial sponsors of Mitrata-Nepal and has supported the organization since its inception. He currently sponsors two children in the Mitrata home, and assists the President in strategic planning and organizational issues. Jim's professional career has been in telecommunications and he has expertise in sales, marketing, company formation and corporate funding. He hopes to see Mitrata grow into a sustainable institution for the welfare of the Nepali society and specifically for our children who need all the help we can give them.
Mark Hartsuyker
Recording Raccoon Studios provides video and other media services to companies and non-profit organizations. We create documentaries, training videos, still image capture either in traditional photography or digital media. We look upon the creative process as a collaboration between the needs of your organization and the innovative services we provide. This dynamic opens the opportunity for team building activities, allowing the participants to understand the message they wish to project and how it might be crafted. Recently our most compelling project is creating a documentary for the Mitrata-Nepal Foundation. When completed this video will be distributed for fund raising purposes to potential donors and various media outlets.
Sue Kaiser
She is the mother of two teenage sons and Manager of Major Gifts for the Saint Louis Zoo. She is on the Mitrata Development Committee and sponsor a school child.
Stephanie Recht
She is the Visitor and Member Services Supervisor at the Saint Louis Art Museum. She is also a professional belly dancer, hula dancer and instructor with Belly Dance Mirage. She sponsors Mamta Luitel and am on the Mitrata board of directors as well as the Fundraising Committee.
Gil Williams
He is the owner of MacroSun International, a fair trade business that works directly with artisans throughout Nepal and all South Asia. Nanda Kulu has provided traditional Nepalese drums and other musical instruments to MacroSun’s customers in the USA beginning in 1993. Gil and Nanda became very close friends, and when Nanda visited the States in 1999, Gil introduced Nanda to Christine Schutz and this wonderful partnership of the spirit ultimately led to the formation of Mitrata. Gil states, “It has been a great honor to be involved with such a heartfelt and effective grassroots organization as Mitrata. I have seen with my own eyes the opportunities and healing that Mitrata offers to the heart, mind, and spirit of a child. I can think of no other task or organization more worthy.”
